  this company is the worst road clearing company ever, I have never seen the roads so poorly taken care of during winter months, and after snowfalls they are extremely slow.

  I have seen many people driving too fast for the conditions or driving without good tires or 4wd and many have ended up in the ditch as a result. We live in the mountains, get a vehicle designed for them.

  THE SPEED LIMITS ARE SET BASED ON PERFECT DRIVING CONDITIONS. 80 OR 90 KM IN WINTER CONDITIONS IS NOT SLOW. and just because the plow has been through it doesn't mean the roads are as good for 100+km again.

  Roads are very dangerous, even when going waaay below the speed limit. Main road is atrocious.

  I drive a minimum of 3000Km a month from early morning to late at night in the East Kootenay region from the top of the Salmo/Creston Pass to Fernie, and from The US border to Radium. My journeys are easy because Main Road have kept the roads clear and in good condition. I have had nothing but good experiences with the roads they are maintaining this year.. Their doing their job is helping me in mine and getting me home safe to my family. AWESOME JOB GUYS, THANK YOU!!

  With all but the highway between Golden and Kimberley closed due to avalanche we had no choice but to travel that route. I understand that this is an usual winter event but when the first plow truck you see is parked at the cafe by the Bugaboo turnoff and the roads are a nightmare I can't say I have much respect for Main Roads. The only other plow trucks we saw were by the Radium Resort turn off going the opposite direction and following each other. It wasn't so much the amount of snow on the road but the lack of sand. Use some sand for crying out loud and try drop your blades.
