  Now I do understand that this is not a business, but it is a public building, and if this woman is the first person you meet upon entering it, then she is the face of this building. The point I'm trying to get to is that people employed in customer service (regardless of what building) should remember that they are serving people of the public, not people who are lesser than them. I could definitely have handled a polite no far better than being made to feel like a uneducated nuisance.

  I went Into this public building today to simply ask if it was possible to visit somebody who is currently in custody (I was told by a lawyer that this would be possible) I was greeted with probably the worst customer service I have ever encountered. The woman who I spoke to immediately rolled her eyes when I approached the desk, upon my request, she rudely snapped at me "well who are you?". After scribbling my name on a scrap of torn paper she went into the back and told rudely me that somebody would be in touch with me IF they had time.
